Rededicating My Life to God

As I step into the new year of 2025, I am reminded of the immense grace God has poured into my life. It is a shame that despite His unwavering love and mercy, I have often found myself distant from Him. The world's allurements have captivated my attention, leaving my heart feeling empty and lonely. However, I thank God for the circumstances that have led me back to my first love – Jesus Christ.

In 2 Corinthians 5:17, it is written, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" I have come to realize that my primary purpose in life is to please and glorify God. Yet, my worldly ambitions had taken me astray, and God had to break me to renew my spirit and remind me of my purpose.

Through this experience, I have gained a deeper understanding that our lives on earth are temporary and serve as a bridge to eternal life and peace. As 1 John 2:17 states, "The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever." I recognize that to live a life that honors God, I must strive to live in holiness and truly believe in and accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.

I have often found myself dwelling on past mistakes and regrets. However, I have come to understand that my past has been washed away by the blood of Jesus Christ. As Romans 8:1-2 declares, "Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death."

At the foot of the cross, I have made the decision to be crucified with Jesus, acknowledging that to live in God's grace, I must die to my old self. As Galatians 2:20 states, "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."

As I surrender my will to God, I pray that He will guide me and keep me chained to His right hand. I recognize that my decisions have been influenced by the world, and I desire to follow God's will and live in the peace that only He can provide.

In closing, I offer this prayer: Heavenly Father, I come to You with a humble heart, seeking to rededicate my life to You. Help me to stay focused on You and to live a life that honors and glorifies You. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
