Prioritizing God Amidst Life's Storms
Life can be unpredictable, like a sudden burst pipe in the dead of night. As I woke up to the mess caused by my water heater breaking down, my soul felt weary. But in the midst of the chaos, I chose to thank God for everything, knowing that worry and frustration wouldn't fix the problem.
The real challenge came later, when a message to my boss about taking care of the issue led to an unexpected response. His words cut deep, making me feel unappreciated and replaceable. But in that moment, I was reminded of a crucial truth: my relationship with God takes precedence over any earthly commitment.
As I reflected on my experience, I realized that life has taught me to prioritize my spiritual well-being. While I love my work, I love my peace and closeness to God more. When a job demands more time than I'm supposed to give to Him, it's time to reevaluate.
Sadly, I may have to quit my job and start anew. But I'm at peace, knowing that God is in control (Psalm 31:15). My fight isn't against flesh and blood (Ephesians 6:12), and I'll continue to respect those who may not treat me as I'd like. Ultimately, my trust is in God, who guides me through life's ups and downs.
