Overcoming the Judas Within: A Journey of Trust and Redemption
As I reflect on life's journey, I'm reminded of Judas, one of Jesus' 12 apostles, who betrayed Him. This narrative resonates deeply, as I recognize that each of us has our own "Judas" – not a physical betrayer, but our own understanding that can lead us astray.
Proverbs 3:5-6 instructs us to "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding." Our self-reliance can become a form of betrayal, distancing us from God's grace. Since Adam and Eve's fall, the enemy has sought to occupy our minds and hearts, steering us away from God's plan.
Yet, God's grace is more powerful than any foe. Through Jesus' sacrifice, His blood cleanses us and empowers us to overcome our internal struggles. We were created in God's image (Genesis 1:27), and as such, we can reject the influence of our "Judas" and submit to God's purpose.
In Psalm 118:8-9, David affirms, "It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in humans... It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in princes." Today, let us release our grip on self-reliance and trust in the Lord, who sits on the throne, sovereign over all.
