A Grateful Heart.
As I reflect on my day, I am reminded of the constant battle between light and darkness. Despite starting the day with a sense of peace and joy, a nagging voice of doubt and fear crept in, trying to steal my joy and distract me from God's goodness. But I knew that I had to ignore it and focus on the truth of God's Word. As the psalmist writes, "You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore" (Psalm 16:11).
As the day went on, I felt a deep sense of gratitude and humility as I reflected on the ways God has been taking care of me. I was reminded of the people He has placed in my life who encourage and build me up, and the ways He has been working in my life to help me see myself in a new light. But just as I was basking in the joy of God's presence, the voice of doubt and fear returned, trying to make me question God's goodness and sovereignty. However, I knew that I had to stand firm in my faith and remind myself of God's power and love.
In 1 Peter 5:8, we are warned that "the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour." But we are not powerless against the enemy's attacks. As 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 says, "The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." By focusing on God's Word and reminding myself of my identity in Christ, I was able to silence the voice of doubt and fear and instead praise God with joy and thanksgiving. As I lifted weights and sang along to my music, I was reminded that "My God says, it ain't over! He is making way in a dry land." In that moment, I knew that God was with me, guiding me and empowering me to overcome every obstacle. My struggle is His glory, and I am grateful to be His child.
