Beyond the Wedding Veil: A Journey to True Love

As I hold the wedding dress that once symbolized my earthly love, I'm reminded of the fleeting nature of human relationships. Like a videotape rewinding, my mind replays the moments I thought I'd found my forever love. But life had other plans. The weight of the dress now serves as a metaphor for the weight of my experiences – the joy, the heartache, and the lessons learned.

In retrospect, I realize I entered marriage with eyes clouded by emotions, rather than guided by my spirit. The Bible warns us about the deceitfulness of the heart (Jeremiah 17:9), and I've come to understand the importance of grounding my relationships in faith. When my marriage crumbled, I felt like I'd lost everything. Yet, in the midst of pain, I found solace in God's Word and prayer.

As Psalm 51:10 reminds us, "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me." I've learned that true love and fulfillment come from connecting with God, the Author of love. Marriage can be a beautiful reflection of Christ's love for us (Ephesians 5:25-33), but without Him at the center, it can become just another human endeavor.

My experience has taught me that love is not just a feeling but a choice rooted in our spirit. As 1 John 4:8 says, "God is love." When we prioritize our relationship with Him, we begin to understand what true love looks like. For now, my spirit is entwined with Jesus, and I'm trusting Him to bring my true partner in His time.

The wedding dress, once a symbol of earthly love, now represents a chapter closed. I'm selling it, not just as a practical decision but as a reminder that my heart belongs to God, and He's working on bringing my soulmate in His perfect timing.
