A Heart at Rest.

As I lay in bed, surrounded by the comfort of my pillows, a wave of longing washed over me. It was as if the enemy had pinpointed my deepest desires and was determined to steal my peace. But in that moment, I heard a gentle whisper: "Talk to Me." It was the voice of Jesus, calling me to prayer, to intimacy, and to trust.

In Matthew 19:10-12, Jesus teaches us that singleness is not for everyone, but for those who are called to it. As a single individual, I can attest that it's not easy. The enemy knows our hearts, and he knows exactly when to strike. But I've learned that when I fix my eyes on Jesus, my heart finds calm. He is my Rock, my Refuge, and my Savior.

The enemy came to steal, kill, and destroy, but I reminded him of the power of the blood of Jesus shed on Calvary. I reminded him that I am a child of God, a princess worthy of a crown, not crumbs. As I focused on Jesus, the darkness turned to light, and a breeze of fire warmed my spirit.

In 1 Peter 5:7, we are told to cast our anxieties on God because He cares for us. When we fix our eyes on Jesus, we can experience the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). We are not alone in our struggles, and we are not defined by our circumstances. We are defined by our identity in Christ.

As I finished my prayer, I felt a sense of peace wash over me. My mind was in control, and my spirit was at rest. I knew that I would face challenges in the days ahead, but I also knew that I would face them with Jesus by my side. I am a child of God, a princess worthy of a crown. I will not let the enemy steal my peace, but instead, I will trust in the Lord's goodness and sovereignty.
