Love Beyond the Surface.

True love is not merely a feeling or an action, but a selfless choice to prioritize the well-being of another. As 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 states, "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres."

True love must echo this biblical truth, because love is not just a physical or superficial connection, but a deep commitment to the other person's emotional and spiritual well-being. Love is someone who sees the harsh side of you and still chooses to love you. This resonates with 1 John 4:18, "There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love."

True love is a choice to see the best in someone, even when they can't see it themselves, it's someone voicing all the good in things about you when all you see is the bad. This reflects the loving nature of God, who sees our potential and calls us His own, despite our flaws (Ephesians 2:4-5).
