David wasn’t looking for a crown—he was tending sheep.
He wasn’t chasing a title—he was worshipping in the field.
But God saw the heart before He revealed the future.
David was anointed long before he was appointed.
Called—but not yet positioned.
Chosen—but not yet installed.
Loved by God—but misunderstood by people.
And in that “in-between,” God was shaping him.
Not through comfort, but through preparation.
Not through applause, but through the secret place.
Not through recognition, but through intimacy with Him.
I feel that season too.
I know God has spoken promises over my life—calling, purpose, influence, ministry.
And yet, I am still in the place of waiting.
Still developing.
Still being stretched, refined, humbled, and prepared.
But waiting does not mean forgotten.
Delay does not mean denial.
When God hides you, it’s not punishment—it’s protection.
For David, the field made him a worshipper.
The valley made him a warrior.
The waiting made him a king.
So I will not rush my way into places God is preparing me for.
If God has anointed me, He will appoint me.
When the time is right, the doors won’t just open—they will call my name.
Until then, I will serve, worship, write, build, grow, heal, and trust.
Because I, too, am in my preparation season.
And when God finishes writing my story, it will be clear…
I didn’t chase it. He brought it to me.
Lord, make me faithful in the field until You call me forward.
Amen.
