“Known, Led, and Held” — A Reflection on John 10:27–29
3am, my eyes opened and a voice in my mind called me to read John 10. Not a specific verse, but the entire chapter.
As I am reading, my heart found peace, stability, recognition, love.
In John 10, Jesus calls Himself the Good Shepherd. A shepherd doesn’t just watch over sheep — he knows them, leads them, and protects them. When Jesus says, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me,” He is reminding me that I don’t belong to confusion, fear, or abandonment — I belong to Him.
He knows my voice when I pray, He knows my tears when I am weary, He knows my thoughts before I even speak them. And when I feel lost or uncertain, His voice doesn’t just call me — it guides me.
He reminds me:
I am not unseen.
I am not unheard.
I am chosen, held, and secured.
He promises not just guidance, but protection, saying, “No one can snatch them out of My hand.” That means my future, my purpose, my identity, my heart — even my love story — are securely placed in the palm of His hand. Nothing and no one can remove me from His covering.
I don’t have to chase, fear, or force anything.
Because I am known, led, and held — by the Shepherd Himself.
