Walking on Cloud Nine in a Doomsday World.
In the midst of a world that often looks like doomsday, it's amazing to recall the times when we've felt like we were walking on cloud nine, sustained by the unshakeable joy and peace that comes from above. Today, I've had the chance to revisit my non-negotiables, and rebuild them on the solid rock of God's truth.
One truth that has particularly stood out is the realization that I will not settle for anything less than being valued and loved for who I am. When someone makes me feel like I don't matter, it's time to let go and walk away. This lesson was hard-won, born out of a painful experience that felt like my heart was being ripped from my chest. But in the depths of that pain, I learned to value myself, to recognize my worth, and to refuse to beg for attention or plead for affection.
The world often confuses us, making us think that the bare minimum is enough, that a semblance of love and attention is sufficient. But God's word reminds us that true love is not hurtful, confusing, or diminishing (1 Corinthians 13:4-7). Jesus showed us the ultimate expression of love, dying on the cross for us, proving our worth and value to Him (John 15:13).
When we experience heartbreak, we have a choice: to run back to the world that hurt us, or to run to Jesus, who loves us unconditionally and without regret (Romans 8:38-39). In His presence, we learn to let go of what doesn't add value to our lives, and to stay with ourselves, our peace, our calm, and the One who truly loves us.
As we navigate the complexities of love and relationships, let's remember that our worth is not defined by human affection, but by God's unwavering love for us. Let's choose to prioritize our relationship with Him, and to seek His truth and wisdom in all things. For in Him, we find the love, peace, and joy that the world cannot give, and cannot take away (John 14:27).
