Believing. Trusting. Faith.
There is a battle happening between what my eyes see and what my spirit is learning to believe.
If you look at my circumstances, you might see uncertainty, a woman far from what was familiar, trying to figure out how everything will work out. And honestly, some days, I see it too. I get tired. My mind runs ahead of me, imagining possibilities I cannot control, and loneliness sometimes makes the unknown feel even heavier.
But then I open my Bible, and something inside me becomes still.
My circumstances have not necessarily changed, but my perspective begins to change when I bring my eyes back to Jesus.
I think about where I came from, the battles I survived, the times I thought I couldn’t keep going, and the grace that carried me when my own strength was no longer enough. I cannot look at my life honestly and deny that God has sustained me.
So why would I allow the uncertainty of tomorrow to erase the evidence of His faithfulness yesterday?
Philippians 4:7 speaks of the peace of God that surpasses all understanding. And perhaps that is what God is teaching me now: peace is not always the result of finally understanding what He is doing. Sometimes, peace is learning to trust His character while the questions remain unanswered.
My mind may be overwhelmed, but my spirit can still find rest in His Word. My eyes may see reasons to fear, but my faith reminds me that I am not walking into tomorrow without Him.
I am learning that trusting God does not mean pretending everything is okay. It means being honest about what hurts while refusing to let what hurts become greater than the One I trust.
Jesus never promised me a life without trouble. He promised His presence. And sometimes, His presence is the very thing that keeps me standing when everything around me feels uncertain.
So, Father, I surrender the pictures my mind keeps creating about tomorrow. I surrender the outcomes I keep trying to predict, the answers I desperately want, and the burdens I was never meant to carry alone.
Teach me to live today’s grace instead of suffering tomorrow’s possibilities.
I don’t need to know every detail of my future to trust the One who holds it.
And if there is one thing this season is teaching me, it is this: I can be tired and still have faith. I can feel lonely and still be held by God’s love. I can tremble at the thought of tomorrow and still choose to walk forward with Jesus.
The storm may be real. The uncertainty may be real. My fears may be real.
But so is my God.
And today, that is where I choose to place my hope. ๐๐ป❤️
