Overcoming Darkness with Faith.

In the midst of life's turmoil, it's easy to feel overwhelmed and alone. Recently, I found myself in such a state, burdened by worries, stress, and frustrations. Despite attempts to pray, my mind was consumed by darkness, leaving me feeling worthless and lonely. Tears streamed down my face as I pleaded with Jesus to comfort me.

The enemy of my soul seized the opportunity to attack, exploiting my weaknesses. Feeling forsaken, I cried out to God, echoing the words of Psalm 22:1, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" Yet, remembering Jesus' last words and the struggles of Job, I found solace. Job's perseverance in the face of adversity reminded me to give thanks to God, not just in prosperity, but also in adversity (Job 1:21).

This morning, despite my mind urging me to stay home, I chose to face the day. Driving to work, the enemy whispered despairing thoughts, but I countered them with praise, honoring God's holy name. Upon arriving home, I realized I had given the enemy too much space in my day. My frustration with my crying kitty served as a wake-up call.

Just as my car needs fuel to move, my spiritual tank requires daily replenishment with God's word and grace. I acknowledged my weakness, forgave myself, and sought God's forgiveness. In that moment, I reaffirmed my worth and the unwavering presence of Jesus, my faithful friend and comforter (Matthew 28:20).

In the depths of despair, faith can be a beacon of hope. Though the world may present reality checks, Jesus' love and companionship remain constant. By refocusing on my spiritual journey and embracing God's love, I emerged stronger, reminded that I am not alone, but loved and worthy.
