The Power of "It is Finished”

In John 19:30, Jesus utters His final words on the cross, "It is finished." These three words, often translated from the Greek word "tetelestai," signify the completion of Jesus' mission to redeem humanity from sin. As Pastor Stanley from InTouch Ministry emphasized, we should always brag about Jesus and share the miracles, grace, and salvation He has brought into our lives through His sacrifice on the cross.

As I reflected on Jesus' words, "It is finished," I realized the profound implications of His statement. On the cross, Jesus paid the ultimate price for my sins, mistakes, sickness, debts, and every chain that bound me to the enemy. His sacrifice marked the end of my enslavement to sin and the beginning of my freedom in Christ.

In 1 Corinthians 6:20, Paul reminds us that we were bought at a price, and that price was the precious blood of Jesus. This truth liberates us from the guilt and shame of our past mistakes. As the apostle Paul writes in Romans 8:1-2, "Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death."

The enemy may try to attack us, but the blood of Jesus serves as a powerful shield, repelling every accusation and assault. In Revelation 12:11, we are reminded that we overcome the enemy "by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony." Jesus' finished work on the cross has secured our victory over sin and death.

As we brag about Jesus and share the miracles He has worked in our lives, we must remember that our salvation is not just a past event but a present reality. Jesus' words, "It is finished," declare that our redemption is complete, and we can live in the freedom and joy of that reality.

May we boldly proclaim the finished work of Jesus on the cross, and may our lives be a testament to the transformative power of His sacrifice.
