What would Jesus Do?

As the US embarks on a new era with the inauguration of a president who professes to follow Jesus Christ, it’s natural to feel a mix of emotions. On one hand, it’s reassuring to have a leader who shares our faith, but on the other hand, there’s apprehension about the direction they’ll take the country.

The phrase “What Would Jesus Do?” (WWJD) comes to mind as a guiding principle for our actions and decisions.

This simple yet powerful question has its roots in biblical teachings, encouraging us to reflect on Jesus’ example when faced with challenges or making decisions. His teachings, based on love, compassion, forgiveness, and servitude, serve as our moral compass.

As we navigate this new era, it’s essential to remember that Jesus’ teachings emphasize care for the vulnerable, the innocent, and the defenseless. We must put aside our own interests and take responsibility for our actions, ensuring they align with Jesus’ principles.

It’s also crucial to recognize that while many of us cry out to God in times of trouble, some individuals use His name to further their own agendas. This is where the WWJD principle becomes even more critical, serving as a reminder to stay true to Jesus’ teachings and not exploit His name for personal gain.

As we move forward, let’s keep asking ourselves, “What would Jesus do?” in every situation, and strive to emulate His love, compassion, and kindness. By doing so, we can create a positive impact and bring about real change in our communities and beyond.
